Timeshares, DON"T DO IT!!!!!!!!

I have decided to write on my opinion about timeshares.

Everywhere you go there is someone selling you a timeshare. Junkmail galore! Have you flown to Mexico lately, you can't leave the airport without someone attacking you trying to sell you a timeshare tour. They are so aggressive in Mexico, they will even pose as someone directing you to your transportation only to try to give you some for "free" in exchange for your time.

My recommendation for timeshares: DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

When you go to a timeshare presentation, they make it seem like it is the most cost-effective way to vacation, it isn't. The most cost effective way to vacation is to find yourself a good travel agent!

Do you want to go to the same place over and over again? By the time you pay maintenance fees and the mortgage, it is definitely more expensive than just buying a vacation package.

At the presentation, they will tell you what a great investment it is. In most cases, that is not true. Trying to sell a timeshare today is nearly impossible. In many cases you will be competing with the timeshare company themselves as they try to sell new units, who do you think is going to win that battle? It is not a good investment. Ever wonder why there are so many companies offering to resell timeshares!!(Usually another scam!)

They will tell you how easy it is to exchange for other properties. In many cases not true, especially if you want to go to somewhere desirable. Also, if you exchange for an all-inclusive property, in many cases you will have to pay a mandatory fee that is so expensive, that you might as well have just booked the resort through a travel agent!

Fall behind on your payment, even for a few days and you will feel the wrath of the timeshare company. I own a Silverleaf resorts timeshare and was a few days late and got called 11 times in 1 day!!!!! They will also talk to you like you are a piece of dirt if you don't make there timeshare your top priority.

If there is someone you don't like, refer them to a timeshare. I referred my mother to Silverleaf resorts and got paid $100. However they called my mother so many times she nearly dis-owned me. They would not take no for an answer! From now on I will only refer my enemies.

When you are on vacation, do not waste your time on a timeshare presentation. There is nothing that they can offer you that is worth so much time of your precious vacation. They will tell you anything to make a sale, don't fall for it.

Dorroh Friends and Family Cruise

Hello everyone. Thanks for visiting the HJ Travels website.

Those of you considering traveling on a cruise with the Dorroh family can use this area to discuss their thoughts or comments about the choice of ship.

Choosing the right ship is very important. All of the choices are great, however some excel in certain areas. Here are my thoughts on each of the choices.

Adventure of the Seas: A great choice if you want to visit many ports. It is a large ship, in fact at one time it was the biggest in the world. Lots to do. A great mix of service and activities.

Oasis of the Seas: Presently the largest ship in the world. LOTS TO DO! It is a little more costly than the other options, but the ship is the destination. In a week you probably would not see all there is to do because the ship is so big. Cannot get bored here.

Freedom of the Seas: Was the largest ship in the world until last year. Also plenty to do. This ship also serves as a destination. A great value.

Celebrity Solstice: Very classy ship. Probably the best service of the choices. The most subdues ship, it starts to shut down around midnight, while the other ships are still going strong.

Caribbean Princess: Similar itinerary to the Adventure of the Seas, but a bit more subdued. A nice choice for a relaxing cruise.

Carnival Freedom: I know that many people here negatives about Carnival ships, however the newer ships such as the Freedom are very nice. This ship is a great value and has many ports and departs from Fort Lauderdale. Convenience is definitely a factor here.

As far as the kids go, all of these ships have extensive children's programs. You may rarely see your kids as there would be so much for them to do.
